Description
Each of us has a story — a narrative written by our experiences and our environments. We also have implicit biases — subtle or subconscious beliefs that influence our actions and decisions, whether we recognize them or not. As educators working with an incredible diversity of learners every day, how can we be more aware of our own stories and design learning environments that embrace our learners’ stories, empowering all learners to reach high expectations? Join Joni Degner, James-Etta Goodloe, Loui Lord Nelson and Kavita Rao to experience their powerful stories, discuss how Universal Design for Learning aligns with Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, and collect resources to use in your learning environment for building cultural awareness and meaningful self-reflection.
