CAST is pleased to announce its participation in the newly formed International Collaboratory for Leadership in Universally Designed Education (INCLUDE), a global network of researchers, students, and practitioners committed to strengthening outcomes for all learners.
INCLUDE aims to link colleagues for partnership and support in the research and design, implementation, innovation, and exploration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Based at the Department for Education and Inclusion at the University of Worcester in the United Kingdom, INCLUDE was formed by Dr. Sean Bracken of the University of Worcester and Richard Jackson, Associate Professor of Special Education at Boston College and a Senior Research Scientist at CAST.
“In every continent save Antarctica, educators are turning to the research-based principles and guidelines of UDL to shape the design of inclusive educational environments,” says David Gordon, CAST Senior Director of Publishing & Communications. “It makes perfect sense that this growing community convene, share ideas and resources, encourage each other, and spread best practices. Together we can hasten the day when learning has no limits for everyone.”
