CAST’s Jose Blackorby to Be Honored with Gordon R. Alley Partnership Award

Jose Blackorby, CAST’s Senior Director of Research and Development, will be recognized today with the Gordon R. Alley Partnership Award by the Kansas University Center for Research on Learning at its annual Learning Conference.

The award honors the legacy of Gordon R. Alley, one of the founders of the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning who was, as its website says, “a master at mentoring the young and inexperienced assistant professors assembled to conduct the Center's first research studies...  [The] award is presented to professionals who contribute to the work of the Center in the same spirit.”

Jose Blackorby directs CAST’s research and development program focusing on basic and applied research and development in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) solutions to enable all learners, including those with disabilities, to gain access and succeed within the current context of higher academic standards. Jose joined CAST in 2016 after nearly 25 years at SRI International. He is also a lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
