Exploring the Intersections of UDL and Support for Multilingual Learners

An image of many speech bubbles depicting how to say 'Hello' in different languages.

Project Description

CAST is partnering with schools who are currently applying the Sobrato Early Academic Language (SEAL) approach to support multilingual learners to explore how  the UDL guidelines and the SEAL approach can intersect to best support the needs of multilingual learners.

Using job-embedded professional learning CAST and SEAL are examining the connections between the UDL Guidelines and the SEAL approach. We are exploring teachers’ experiences applying these two frameworks in complementary ways–as well as the experiences of students,  parents, and caregivers. The California Coalition for Inclusive Learning project is also providing support.
