The Center for Innovation, Design, and Digital Learning (CIDDL) aims to improve the capacity of postsecondary faculty who teach preservice educators to use educational technology for more inclusive instruction. CAST is one of three primary partners working with the University of Kansas, which leads the project.
The Center focuses on the following activities:
The Center’s mission is to influence change that supports the appropriate use of educational technology in all Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (EI/ECSE) and K–12 learning environments to improve outcomes for all students, especially those with disabilities.
The team includes experts in special education, Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education, educational technology, Universal Design for Learning, instructional design, STEM education, and professional development.
“Technology, by and large, is about solving problems. Getting faculty members, researchers and educators together to improve special education, early intervention and personnel preparation through a better understanding of the potential of technology is something we feel very strongly about, and we really want to help all faculty members at institutions big and small across the country.” Dr. James Basham, Ph.D., CIDDL Principal Investigator
