Help Shape the Future of Science Instruction

CAST’s OASIS Project (Opening Access to Science Instruction and Support) builds coaching and teacher capacity in inquiry science and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to meet the needs of every learner in elementary science.

The OASIS team is looking for school sites to participate in a research study during the first four months of the 2025-2026 school year. This project focuses on 4th & 5th grade classrooms, and provides support for students with and without disabilities in inquiry science—using your own curriculum!

My students really enjoyed SNUDLE. They were more engaged, and students that I didn’t realize understood some of the science really showed me what they learned.”
Participating Teacher

Working with OASIS will give you:

  • Support for coaches to work with teachers
  • Use of a universally designed digital science notebook: SNUDLE (Science Notebook in a Universal Design for Learning Environment)
  • On-demand resources for teachers and coaches to promote student science skills

All participants will gain free access to tools & supports to meet inquiry science standards for 4th and 5th grade, and receive a stipend from CAST for participating in this research project during the 2025-26 year.

Coaches will participate in professional learning on SNUDLE with CAST, and support teachers in using SNUDLE.

Teachers will work with a school-based coach on SNUDLE, and use SNUDLE in their classroom.
