Curriculum Barriers Tutorial

The one-size-fits-all approach found in traditional, print-based teaching methods and materials contains hidden barriers for many learners. The best way to spot them is to evaluate the materials and methods you use in the context of your students' strengths, needs, and interests. This tutorial provides sample students and curriculum so that you can practice this kind of thinking.

Mentor Icon The Curriculum Barriers Mentor offers related background information and models to clarify, explain, and demonstrate the concepts and their implementation.

There are four parts to this tutorial. You can restart, edit your entries, save your work, or repeat the tutorial using different content.

  1. Choose a student

  2. Choose curriculum

  3. Analyze the barriers

  4. Wrap up
